Donation to Support the Green Homes Tour:
Please consider a donation to help support this and future similar
tours. Donations are tax-deductible and proceeds go to the the 501c3
non-profit, the Virginia Solar Council, (fiscal sponsor of the 19-year-old DC Tour of Solar Homes and the 2-year-old Takoma Green Homes Tour).
Suggested donation is $5 per person, $10 per family, which can also be made at any house on the tour.
Funds are used to pay our dedicated website manager and printed guide designer, mailing packets of tour materials to over 70 homeowners, for supplemental advertising (beyond the donated and discounted printing and free media we get) to help educate and get the word out about the tour, and to support an "appreciation party" for our homeowners.
Homeowners and all the other organizers of the events are unpaid volunteers.
NOTE: on the PayPal page you may notice that donations are collected via Truthful Living's PayPal account, which will then be forwarded on to the Virginia Solar Council.
